NorthWestern Corp. Welcomes New Board Members

Sioux Falls, S.D. – April 27, 2017 – NorthWestern Corporation d/b/a NorthWestern Energy (NYSE:NWE) today announced that Britt E. Ide and Linda G. Sullivan have been elected to the company’s Board of Directors. Together, they bring extensive utility, finance, legal, regulatory and executive experience to the independent board.

Ide is president of Ide Energy & Strategy and is a director and interim CEO of the Big Sky (MT) Chamber of Commerce. Sullivan is an executive vice president and CFO of American Water, the largest publicly traded U.S. water and wastewater utility.

The addition of Sullivan and Ide brings the number of NorthWestern Energy board members to nine. Only one board member, CEO Bob Rowe, is an employee of the company, with the others representing a broad range of experience across the utility industry.

Along with Sullivan’s experience at American Water, she has 22 years of experience with the Edison International companies, last serving as senior vice president and CFO at Southern California Edison from 2009 to 2014. She has 25-plus years of utility finance and regulatory experience and is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant.

Ide, a fifth-generation Montanan, served as senior counsel of Idaho Power Co. from 2009 to 2011 and filled legal leadership roles at Healthwise Inc., Albertson’s Inc. and Boise Cascade Corp. She serves on the board of Hotrock Energy Research Organization and was appointed to Montana’s Clean Power Plan advisory council and as an ambassador for the Clean Energy Education & Empowerment Initiative, a U.S. Dept. of Energy, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University collaboration.
