Construction near Hale Reservoir will create possible traffic delays and trail closure; outages expected

Helena, Mont. – September 28, 2021 – Anglers, bicyclists, other recreationists and users of the trail system below Hale Reservoir on the south-side of Helena may experience trail closures and traffic delays on Friday, Oct. 1. In addition, temporary power outages are anticipated starting at 8 a.m.
Construction crews are installing new power poles that require area evacuations to ensure public safety. Mountain Power is the primary contractor of the project.
The work will involve helicopters overhead and heavy equipment on the ground. Users are asked to watch for signs along the road and to observe the reduced speed limit. The safety of the crew and the public are NorthWestern Energy’s priority.
The project is expected to be completed and power restored by 3 p.m.
