Megaload transportation requires overnight planned power outages for some NorthWestern Energy customers

Butte, Mont. – Dec. 1, 2023 – The night-time transportation of a mega load from southern Montana to Canada will require NorthWestern Energy to de-energize some power lines along the route for safety, resulting in planned power outages for some NorthWestern Energy electric customers.

Customers who will have a planned service outage will receive an automated phone message from NorthWestern Energy prior to the outage.

Some customers in Twin Bridges, Sheridan, Alder and Virginia City will have planned service outages overnight from Dec.3 to 4 and Dec. 4 to 5.

Some customers in Ennis will have planned service outages overnight from Dec.5 to 6. 

Some customers in Toston, Townsend, Winston, East Helena, Helena, and Wolf Creek will have planned service outages overnight from Dec. 7 to 8, Dec. 10 to 11, Dec. 11 to 12 and Dec. 12 to 13.
