TYPE: News
Great Falls, Mont. – June 12, 2026 – NorthWestern Energy will implement a temporary lane closure on Monday, June 15 on 9th Street North between 1st Avenue North and Central Avenue to support ongoing natural gas infrastructure upgrades in Great Falls.
The east (northbound) lane of 9th Street North will be closed. Northbound traffic will remain open but will be shifted around the work zone to maintain traffic flow. The closure is expected to last one day, weather and construction conditions permitting.
This closure is necessary to ensure the safety of crews and the public as work continues on projects three natural gas infrastructure projects in the area that began in June.
Drivers, cyclists and pedestrians are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the area and to follow all posted signage and directions from onsite personnel.
These projects help ensure a safe, reliable natural gas system for today while preparing for the future energy needs of the Great Falls community. NorthWestern Energy thanks residents, businesses and travelers for their patience while this important work is completed.
