Lane Closure Scheduled June 19 on 1st Avenue North in Great Falls for Gas Infrastructure Work

Date: Jun 18, 2026

TYPE: News

Great Falls, Mont. – June 18, 2026 – The northernmost lane of 1st Avenue North between 9th Street North and 10th Street North will be temporarily closed on Friday, June 19 for the safety of the public and NorthWestern Energy’s crews working on a natural gas infrastructure project in the area.

Traffic will be detoured around the work zone. The closure is expected to last one day, weather and construction conditions permitting.

This closure is associated with continued work on a NorthWestern Energy natural gas infrastructure project underway along 10th Street North.

Drivers, cyclists and pedestrians should use caution when traveling through the area and follow all posted signage and directions from onsite personnel.

This work helps ensure a safe, reliable natural gas system for today while preparing for the future energy needs of the Great Falls community. NorthWestern Energy thanks residents, businesses and travelers for their patience while this important work is completed.
