Date: Apr 16, 2026
TYPE: News
Sioux Falls, S.D./Butte, Mont. – April 16, 2026 – NorthWestern Energy employees are once again volunteering their time and talents to support communities across the region as part of the company’s 2026 Week of Service.
More than 30 service projects will take place across NorthWestern Energy’s service territory. While volunteer activities are scheduled throughout the spring, most events will take place during the week of April 20, aligning with Earth Day on April 22 and Arbor Day on April 24.
“The 2026 Week of Service reflects the continued commitment our employees show to the communities we serve,” said NorthWestern Energy Vice President of Customer Care, Communications and Human Resources Bobbi Schroeppel. “In 2025, the grants we provided in recognition of employees’ service increased 18% from the year before, with more than $163,000 donated to organizations in the communities we serve. We’re proud of the care and dedication of our employees and the Week of Service is one meaningful way we support that.”
During the Week of Service, NorthWestern Energy employees will participate in a variety of volunteer projects across Montana, South Dakota and Nebraska. Many activities focus on environmental stewardship, including community cleanups, park, trail and river restoration, and neighborhood beautification projects in the communities NorthWestern Energy serves.
Employees will also take part in tree planting and Arbor Day activities, supporting long‑term environmental health and the enhancement of local public spaces. Additional projects will benefit food security efforts, youth and education programs, and community events, with employees providing their time and talents to support nonprofit organizations, schools and service groups throughout the region.
