We serve gas and electric to customers in the western two-thirds of Montana and eastern South Dakota. We also have gas service in Nebraska and serve electricity to Yellowstone National Park.
NorthWestern owns and operates a diverse generation fleet of wind, water, natural gas and coal-fired resources and the high-voltage electric transmission system and distribution system. We also own and operate natural gas production, transmission and distribution systems.

NorthWestern Energy Invites the Community to “Make a Basket, Make a Difference” for Action, Inc. at Butte Mayfair

Butte, Mont. – May 4, 2026 – NorthWestern Energy is inviting Mayfair attendees to help support Action Inc. while having some fun at the Butte Civic Center May 8-10.
Visitors to NorthWestern Energy’s booth can try their hand at a pop-a-shot basketball game. For every basket made, NorthWestern Energy will donate $1 to Action Inc., a community-based nonprofit serving Southwest Montana.
“Come by our booth, show off your skills, and help raise money for an organization that supports our community,” said NorthWestern Energy Community Relations Manager Paul Babb. “It’s free to play, and NorthWestern Energy is proud to support Action Inc.”
Action Inc. provides critical services to individuals and families facing challenging circumstances, including energy assistance, housing support, food programs, and early childhood education.
“Action Inc. exists to help people address practical issues and the stress felt during personal crises. Our goal is to ensure no one faces hardships alone,” said Action, Inc. CEO Margie Seccomb. “We’re grateful for NorthWestern Energy’s support, which helps make it possible for us to care for those in need every step of the way.”
Action Inc. is dedicated to helping low- to moderate-income residents achieve stability and self-sufficiency, focusing on those most in need across the region.
