We invest in our employees and culture

We invest significant resources in maintaining a culture that supports the ongoing development of our workforce. NorthWestern Energy strongly believes in the development of its employees. Along with a robust training program when new employees start, we also offer new employee orientation within the first six months of employment, and a chance to create a new hire development plan with your supervisor. We also offer tuition reimbursement for those studying in a field related to their job. In addition, employees find our vice presidents and CEO to be very accessible, and many have personally met our board of directors.

We believe every employee can lead

Each year, every employee has the opportunity to apply for Leadership NorthWestern, a program designed to build business acumen and relationships across the company and to unleash the leadership skills every employee embodies. The program provides 30 participants with a unique opportunity to learn about NorthWestern Energy and the environment in which it operates, the opportunity to network with others across the organization and to gain a better understanding of where their role fits into the larger picture at NorthWestern Energy.

We invest in our supervisors

Leadership NorthWestern

We invest in our supervisors

NorthWestern supports growing leaders through Leadership Boot Camp, a yearlong program that covers topics such as coaching, communication, developing others, delegation, change management, performance feedback, financial acumen, and rates and regulation. About 20 supervisors, managers and leaders are chosen for this intensive training program each year.

In addition to Boot Camp, NorthWestern also assigns new supervisors a learning plan to follow to help them succeed and grow as new leaders within the company.
