Share the Warmth: NorthWestern Energy Again Hosts Warm Clothing Drive for Friends of the Children – Western Montana

Date: Oct 6, 2026

TYPE: News

MISSOULA, Mont. — Oct. 6, 2026 — NorthWestern Energy is partnering with Friends of the Children – Western Montana again to collect new or gently used warm clothing for children in need. NorthWestern Energy employees and members of the public are invited to drop off donations from Oct. 9 to 30 at the NorthWestern Energy Customer Service Center in Missoula, 1903 S. Russell Street, during regular business hours. Friends of the Children will distribute the clothing to children participating in its program.

“This drive is about neighbors coming together to make sure children can stay warm and active through our Montana winters,” said NorthWestern Energy Community Relations Manager Todd Rahr. “Friends of the Children’s work is changing lives and we’re proud to help support their mission.”

Friends of the Children – Western Montana impacts generational change by empowering youth who are facing the greatest obstacles through relationships with professional mentors. The organization provides youth with long-term, consistent relationships with professional, salaried mentors—called “Friends”—who walk alongside children for 12+ years, from kindergarten through graduation. The organization currently serves 56 youth in Missoula, helping them and their families build resilience, achieve academic success, and break cycles of intergenerational poverty and trauma.

“Our families often face difficult choices between meeting basic needs,” said Executive Director Ben Davis of Friends of the Children – Western Montana. “This kind of community support truly helps our kids feel cared for and ready to thrive this winter.”

Where Does Your Energy Come From?

At NorthWestern Energy, our goal is to provide our customers reliable energy at the lowest long-term cost. We do this through a balanced mix of safe, reliable, affordable and clean energy. Our electric portfolio is built on the carbon-free hydro system, along with wind, coal, gas and solar. This mix of renewable and traditional resources helps us keep energy bills as affordable and predictable as possible.
